Dopo le 9 nomination ottenute ai Golden Globes, il fenomeno pop Barbie di Greta Gerwig si porta a casa ben 18 nomination ai Critics’ Choice Awards 2024, stabilendo un record per la cerimonia di premi organizzata annualmente dalla CCA, l’associazione di critici e giornalisti statunitensi e canadesi fondata nel 1995. Tra i premi più importanti a cui è candidato Barbie, spiccano quello di miglior film, miglior regista, miglior attrice (Margot Robbie), miglior attore non protagonista (Ryan Gosling) e miglior attrice non protagonista (America Ferrera).
Dietro al film di Gerwig seguono, con 13 nomination, Oppenheimer di Christopher Nolan e il vincitore del Leone d’oro Povere creature! di Yorgos Lanthimos. Sono 12 invece le candidature per Killers of the Flower Moon di Martin Scorsese, mentre tra gli altri film nominati spiccano soprattutto The Holdovers di Alexander Payne, Maestro di Bradley Cooper e Il colore viola del regista ghanese Blitz Bazawule.
La 29esima edizione dei Critics’ Choice Awards si terrà a Los Angeles domenica 14 gennaio 2024.
