Sono state annunciate in data odierna le nomination dei SAG Awards 2024, il riconoscimento assegnato annualmente dalla Screen Actors Guild e uno dei precursori più importanti in vista degli Oscar. Tra i film con il maggior numero di nomination, spiccano Oppenheimer di Christopher Nolan, American Fiction di Cord Jefferson, Killers of the Flower Moon di Martin Scorsese e Barbie di Greta Gerwig.
Diverse sono le assenze importanti, come Leonardo DiCaprio per il film di Scorsese, Sandra Hüller per Anatomia di una caduta, Mark Ruffalo per Povere creature! e lo stesso film di Yorgos Lanthimos nella categoria del miglior cast. Buco nell’acqua anche per May December: il film di Todd Haynes, infatti, non ha ottenuto nessuna nomination. Sorprendono, invece, alcune scelte inattese, come il duo Annette Bening e Jodie Foster, entrambe nominate per il film Nyad, e Penelope Cruz per Ferrari.
Nelle categorie televisive, si riconferma il dominio dell’award season da parte di serie come Succession, The Last of Us e The Bear.
